This beautiful alternative to water is ridiculously simply and satisfyingly good! Cinnamon is probably my most favorite spice ever, which is why I was delighted to discover this refreshing drink in a small café in Los Angeles years ago! I don’t even think they knew how good it was for us!
Makes 2 – 3 liters; Prep + Cooking time: 1 – 4 hours.
What’s in it:
- 2 – 3 liters (approx. 2 – 3 quarts/liters) pure filtered water
- 3 cinnamon sticks
How to make it:
There are two options for making this…
- As a sun tea – Combine the water and cinnamon sticks in a glass jar or pitcher. Cover and sit in the sun for approximately 4 – 5 hours or until the water becomes slightly tinted reddish brown. Refrigerate and serve on the cooler side of room temperature.
- As a prepared tea – Combine water and cinnamon sticks in a large, heavy-bottomed pan. Bring to a boil and simmer on a medium heat for 3 – 5 minutes. Allow to cool. Serve on the cooler side of room temperature.
