Discover what your yoga teaching is missing…
The Elements of Yoga

Ayurveda for Yoga Teachers

Is your yoga teaching truly serving your students?

It's a critical question to ask yourself because...

Yoga is more than just exercise

Students know this, and they want more from their yoga. With the increasing focus on wellness and the wealth of information available on how to get there, people come to yoga looking for more than just a better body.  They recognize that yoga is a complete system for living and want to know more about how to apply it for their greatest benefit, mind, body and soul.  Most yoga teacher training programs don’t teach this…

Knowledgeable teachers stand out.

These days students have LOTS of options for learning and practicing yoga.  More and more yoga teachers are  being certified every day.  But students are looking for teachers with a broader knowledge of how to practice, and wisdom that extends beyond the mat.  They’re  eager to live their yoga and are looking for someone who can teach them.

Ayurveda is what modern yoga is missing...

It's the foundation for yoga that honors and supports our wholeness

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic system for living.

Ayurveda is a science of living that rests upon the foundations of yoga philosophy. It's a set of tools and practices that support the realization and expression of our wholeness.  It's aim is to have us understand at every level of our being (mind, body, soul) that who we are is a relationship -- a delicate and ever changing dance between our internal and external worlds.  Ayurvedic wisdom guides us to intelligently inquire into root causes of imbalance (illness and disease), and to use the intuitive knowing of the body to rebalance ourselves throughout the day, year and life.

Yoga without Ayurveda is missing the point.

Yoga and Ayurveda are commonly referred to as sister sciences. They come from the same traditions and work together as complementary approaches to ultimate wellness, each supporting the other to create a health and happiness “dream team”. The goal of Yoga is self-awareness and self realization.  The mind and body are our vehicles to get there. Ayurveda is dedicated to the health and vitality of the body and mind.

When you practice them together you enhance them both.

When you teach them together you empower your students to transform.

What students are saying...

“I would (and already have!) recommended this course to yoga teachers who want to grow their understanding of Ayurveda and how to begin to bring Ayurveda into their life and Yoga. It is a very approachable course for diving into the vast topic of Ayurveda. And it adds another dimension to teaching yoga."

“You have such a beautiful teaching style, which makes people feel comfortable right away. Everything about the way you show up is welcoming and accepting. I felt that everybody's questions were acknowledged and answered in a thoughtful and mindful way. The content is extremely detailed and rich with so much information, but you make it easy to understand and I didn't feel overwhelmed by it."

“The way you have connected Ayurveda and Yoga to Mental Health, Yoga Sutras, and not made it just about the Doshas and what you eat is brilliant. The permission to notice how one feels before making choices has really opened this up for me. It's not just all about the Doshas. These teachings really changed my understanding."

“Deepened my knowledge of Ayurveda, it made me want to learn more about myself, my practice and I think it's useful for all yoga teachers to learn more about Ayurveda and how you can integrate it with your own studies, practice and then share it with your students.”

“Thank you so much for such a fabulous experience. It has changed the way I look at everything.”

“First of all, let me say how much I enjoyed every single second of this course.  I could not believe how much I learned, how much I had no idea about, and how it has expanded my understanding of Ayurveda in an enormous way.  I feel I can talk about this with some level of confidence to students without overwhelming them with facts.  You have made it all so accessible!  Just wonderful!
